Dean College’s Bryce King was recognized for his work on the pitch last week. 

King, an Athol High School graduate, has spent the last four seasons playing on the men's soccer team at Dean, and at the team’s banquet last week, King was presented with the Coaches Award for his leadership as team captain and contributions as a versatile field player. King played 1,195 minutes in the midfield last fall, scoring two goals. He started 14 of the 17 games he played in and helped the Bulldogs finish with a 9-5-3 record.

Country Club of Greenfield

Nancy Robie and Gail Miller shot the low net of 62 in a Blind Partners Draw contest in the 18 Hole Women’s League at the Country Club of Greenfield Tuesday.  Ann McHugh and Donna Mowry took second (64) while Teresa Varner and Susan O’Connor placed third (66). 

• In a Putt for Points contest in the 9 Hole Women’s League at CCG on Tuesday, Elaine Goodhind won the Patty Berg Flight with a score of 17. 

Ann McHugh took the Nancy Lopez Flight (15), Sarah Cook won the Joanna Carner Flight (14), Sandy Ruggeri took the Lorena Ochoa Flight (12), Diane Wood and Sally Bernard tied in the Annika Sorenstom Flight (13) while Donna Mowry won the Michelle Wie Flight (11).

Franklin First Credit Union 6, Pipione’s Sport Shop 5 — Grayson Baker, Lily Melissa Beckwith, Grace hickey and Marlee Pratt each had three hits while Danielle Zraunig pitched in Franklin First’s win Tuesday.

Clara VanDoren, Caroline Livley and Savannah Daignault each had two hits for Pipione’s. 

Camelot Carpet Cleaners 7, Greenfield Elks Club 4 — Ella Kimball knocked an RBI single while Leyla Bailey had four hits in Camelot’s win Tuesday. 

Freedom Credit Union 9, Franklin First Credit Union 4 — Elyse Reardon knocked two hits while Sophia Flores and Paisley Beck each had three hits and an RBI in Freedom’s victory on Monday. 

Evelyn Eldridge, Elise LaPrade, Grace Hickey and Danielle Zraunig each had three hits for Franklin. 

Tri-County

Northfield Wolves 20, Northfield Cougars 12 — Deveney Pillsbury and Kendall Harrison each had three hits, with Harrison adding two strikeouts in the circle during the Wolves’ win Monday. 

Ryleigh Goodwin and Abigail Fortier each had three hits, Josephine Hescock had two hits and an RBI while Evy Lewis struck out five for the Cougars. 

Middle school

Greenfield 20, Mohawk Trail 4 — Sammi Suhl struck out six, Stella Call had three hits while Kayden Viencek and Avery Cutting hit safely in Greenfield’s win Tuesday. 

Madison Ross struck out five, Izzy Fillaut had two hits while Ryah Pizzi and Rileigh Clark each had two hits for Mohawk Trail. 

Baseball

Rotary Club 11, Lundgren Honda 6 – Brock Puchalski was 3-for-3 including a triple, while Blake Miner added two hits and pitched three innings, striking out nine for Rotary. Gabe Heineman added at hit in the win.

Ben Trombley led Lundgren with two hits while Kent Warner and Damien Shields each had a hit.

New Fortune 11, Bobby C’s 5 — Sean Winslow doubled, tripled and hit two singles, Collin Winslow tallied two singles and two doubles while Darick Chaisson singled and doubled in New Fortune’s win Monday. 

Braith Brothers, Chris Bauer and Theo Schulte all hit safely for Bobby C’s.
