Bulletin Board: Greenfield Post 81 holding tryouts on May 4th, 5th and 11th

The Greenfield Post 81 American Legion Baseball Team, which features both junior and senior teams, will hold registration and tryouts on May 4, 5 and 11 at 1 p.m. each day at Vets Field in Greenfield. 

Players from all Franklin County schools are eligible to try out, and those on a previous Post 81 roster must still try out in order to be eligible. Players must be age 19 and under on Dec. 31, 2024 to play for the senior team while the junior team players must be 17 and under by Dec. 31, 2024. 

Players are to bring a glove, cleats and their original birth certificate to the tryouts.

Camelot Carpet Cleaners 5, Freedom Credit Union 3 — Paisley Beck knocked three hits while Auralia Wright hit safely and scored a run in Camelot’s Junior Division victory on Tuesday. 

Evelyn Bailey cracked three hits while Reaghan Bernard tallied two hits for Freedom. 

Franklin First Credit Union 5, Pipione’s Sport Shop 4 — Evelyn Eldridge, Danielle Zraunig and Eleanor Martin each had three hits in Franklin’s Junior Division victory on Tuesday. 

Ellie McIntire had a pair of hits while Eleanor Jones hit safely for Pipione’s.

Gilmore & Farrell Insurance 12, Greenfield Garden Cinemas 10 —  Kamryn Beck struck out five while Sadie Wilcox (three hits, four RBI’s), Rian Farrell (two hits, two RBI’s), Hannah Lunt (hit) and Miley Frey (hit) helped lead Gilmore & Farrell past Greenfield Garden Cinemas on Monday. 

Riley Tine struck out three and added a hit at the plate for Greenfield Garden. 

Pristine Orientals 5, Camelot Carpet Cleaners 1 — Layla Bailey cracked two hits while Isabella Sluder and Madison Bernard each added a hit in Pristine’s victory on Monday. 

Savannah Thomas knocked three hits while Mia Beckwith and Makenna Ward both tallied two hits for Camelot.

Smitty’s Pub 5, Maniatty’s Real Estate 1 — Asa Bouchard had a hit and two RBIs while Carter Malouin had a strong defensive game in Smitty’s Majors victory on Tuesday. 

Jackson Puchalski, Fisher Williams and Luciano Steffalano each hit safely for Maniatty’s. 

Denny’s 10, Gilmore & Farrell 6 – Xaviay Reynolds doubled, while Ryan Turner, Blake Grover, Fred Burnap and Aaron Turner each had a hit in the win for Denny’s. Burnap and Ben Shivone handled the pitching for the Pantry.

Gilmore & Farrell’s top hitters were Casey Burke, Jaydyn Howard and Michael Dixon. 

Gagne Wealth Management 10, Fitzgerald Real Estate 2 — Elliot Hunt hit a home run while John Vera Dreyer, Phillip Hannon and Jack Merrigan each knocked three hits in Gagne’s AA victory  on Monday. 

Conner Homer, Liam Grant and Abraham Walker each recorded three hits for Fitzgerald, with Grant adding a scoreless inning on the mound. 

Baker Financial Group 14, Parody Builders 13 — Crosby Cairney recorded three hits, Jayce Kratt hit safely while Jace Shippa and Duncan Cairney each struck out the side in Baker’s AA triumph on Monday. 

Ethan Martin tallied two hits, Oscar Lizotte drove in a pair of runs while Wesley Lehman singled and doubled for Parody.

St. Stan’s 11, TFAC 9 — Max  Myers had two three RBIs for St. Stan’s, which also received two hits apiece from Luke Carlo, Malcolm Tyler, Carter Flagg and Emmanuel Quesada on Monday.

TFAC’s Hunter Kelley had three hits, including a triple, and an RBI, and Carmelo Bashaw also had a hit and drove in a run.
