Thursday, Feb. 1

12:27 p.m. - Motor vehicle stop for marked lanes violation on Daniel Shays Highway resulted in arrest of Che-Bon J. Lovato, 48, for trafficking in cocaine 18 grams or more, less than 36 grams.

Sunday, Feb. 4

11:06 p.m. - Reporting party advises a vehicle drove down Eagleville Road and threw something out of the window that exploded, they were unsure if it was fireworks or a mortar but that it shook their house. Appears firework was set off inside a mailbox. One of the occupants stated a day earlier she had a road rage incident with someone who followed her to the house.

Wednesday, Feb. 7

8:30 a.m. - Caller reporting there is a male party on Daniel Shays Highway that keeps walking back and forth looking disoriented. Officers spoke with male party who advised he was looking to get to the nearest bus stop, he denied any need for services.

9:17 a.m. - Caller from Perry Road reporting there is a car in her yard and she doesn’t know whose it is. She was advised the vehicle was dropped off there by request and if she wanted the vehicle removed, she would have to pay for it herself. She was extremely upset and would not listen to officers. She told officers to leave and slammed the door shut.

Friday, Feb. 9

1:18 a.m. - Traffic stop on E. Main Street and Wheeler Avenue for expired inspection sticker resulted in the arrest of Faith Hope Schlichting, 21, on warrants.

11:13 a.m. - Party in the lobby to speak to an officer. Officer spoke with the party who stated he believes that his goats are being poisoned. He recently had a second goat die and he took it in to have an autopsy preformed. He also stated that his other goats are sick. He was directed to the Animal Control Officer for further investigation and was advised that the ACO would reach out to Orange PD if the findings from the autopsy warranted an investigation.

Saturday, Feb. 10

2:50 p.m. - Walk-in to the police department requesting to speak with an officer about a scam that he was involved in. He explained that a male party contacted him and said the reporting party owed money for a fine and if he didn’t pay it immediately there would be a warrant for his arrest. The reporting party wanted to confirm that there wasn’t a warrant issued. He was provided with the information that he requested and advised the incident would be on record.

Monday, Feb. 12

9:44 a.m. - Caller looking to speak to someone regarding someone who keeps putting trash at the fire hydrant but it is also the bus stop so now the kids have been making a mess with it. On call back, the reporting party states that someone in the area will place items at the corner of West Main and Shelter streets trying to give them away (bureau, roller skates, etc). There has been a box with an old hockey net and pieces that has been scattered now and wants to have it on record. The reporting party was advised to give the PD a call when something gets left out so they can try and locate the person and to have a conversation about leaving/dumping property.

Party advised he is having a civil issue with his neighbor in regards to a mailbox and tree being placed in his property. Male has intentions to move both to neighbors land. Reporting party was advised to call station with any issues.

Sunday, Feb. 18

11:45 p.m. - Traffic stop on Old South Road for speeding. Owner/operator placed under arrest. Kelsey Layne Winship, 21, arrested for speeding, OUI- liquor OR .08%, possession of open container of alcohol in motor vehicle.

Monday, Feb. 19

11:07 p.m. - Reporting party on Daniel Shays Highway advises a vehicle is blocking her in. It’s been parked behind her vehicle for about 40 minutes. Reporting party advises she’s turned off all the lights and is just finishing closing the store, but does not feel comfortable walking to her car at this time. Reporting party advises the vehicle blocking her in is running and someone is in the vehicle. Upon arrival, spoke with male operator who was a college student who pulled over to have a video chat with classmates. He was unaware the employee’s vehicle was blocked in.
