The Athol Lions Club held its annual Last Chance Christmas Bazaar the past weekend at the Athol-Orange Elks Club to raise money for charity. The event was organized by Athol Lions Secretary and event chair Terry LaCoy. There were 40 tables rented to roughly 30 crafters offering all kinds of items, from personalized Christmas tree bulbs to various types of clothing. The Lions sold coffee, soda, water, doughnuts, hot dogs, and baked potatoes with toppings. There were also many raffle prizes provided by both Lions and vendors that helped to raise more money for charity. One of the big highlights was the appearance of Santa Claus and his helpers. This event was the last charitable fundraiser of 2011 for the Athol Lions. The next club project will be a meat raffle on Jan. 21 at the French Club.
