SHELBURNE FALLS -- Charles Morris Krouse Jr., 63, of Shelburne Falls, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013, following years of extended illness.
Charlie was born in Spring Hill, La., to Julia and Charles Krouse Sr. on July 3, 1949. He went to high school at Ralph C. Mahar Regional High School in Orange, where he was a member of the football, baseball and track and field teams. He attended college at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.
Charlie worked at Rodney Hunt Company for over 20 years and also held employment at Rice Oil and Yankee Candle Company. He had many passions including his two daughters, woodworking, gardening, high school and college football, and the Red Sox.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charles Morris Krouse Sr., and his mother, Julia Partenheimer of Orange.
Charlie is survived by his two daughters, Sara Kelly of Orange,and Elizabeth Brady of Windsor, Conn.; his granddaughter Madelyn Brady, of Windsor, Conn.; his brother William Krouse of Princeton, and his sister Julia Sabine of Orange.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at the American Legion, 40 Daniel Shays Hwy., Orange, on Friday, May 17, from 4 to 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Liver Transplant Team at UMass Memorial Health Center. Include with your donation that it is for the Liver Transplant Team in Memory of Charles M. Krouse.
