It is time for the 2nd Franklin District to choose a new representative. We are fortunate to have Denise Andrews as a first class choice for this position. Having grown up here, Denise is extremely passionate about our district. She has 25 years experience in the business world working with large corporations.

As business partners, we care about the area where we live and where we conduct our business. Our philosophy is to celebrate community, provide a valuable service and listen to the voices of our neighbors.

On Tuesday, I'll be voting for Denise Andrews to fill the seat left open by Rep. Chris Donelan. I have worked closely with Denise over the past six months on an almost daily basis. I have seen that Denise approaches issues with a desire to learn and act. She is thoughtful, stopping on a dime to make sure that she gives credit to others when their hard work and contributions might otherwise go unnoticed.

I am a relative newcomer to this wonderful and scenic area. The idea was to retire here someday, but life being what it is those plans changed when I was laid off in March of 2009. Since we had purchased our "retirement" home in Orange in December 2008, we thought perhaps it was time to be here on a more permanent basis, and with a little luck find work. We arrived August 2009 and have really enjoyed this past year.

This is a painful letter to write and one I have discussed with my husband many times. I feel compelled to break from past fidelities in order to do what's best for the larger community. In doing so, I realize that I will be most unpopular in my own.

Next Tuesday, Sept. 14, the State of Massachusetts will be holding an election as most of you are aware. Historically speaking, I have not been one to get heavily involved with politics. I educate myself on what the candidates represent and then cast my vote. There really isn't much emotional attachment. This election is different for me. I am proud to say that I will be voting for Lee Chauvette as our next State Representative. Tuesday, September 07, 2010

After moving from Greenfield to Orange, I met Denise Andrews who struck me as a smart and caring woman with a wealth of skills and experience in so many different arenas. She and I began communicating in a group setting about potential and endless positive possibilities for personal and organizational growth and structure. It was then that I realized what an impact one person could bring to this region. The impact Denise has made on me and on Orange has been HUGE.

| | | THANKS | Editor, Daily News
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the Athol Police K-9 Program for the past 12 years. There have been so many business owners, private and public organizations and many generous and good-hearted people from Athol and surrounding communities that have enabled the K-9 program to be self-sufficient for 12 years.

I have lived in Greenfield for over 40 years and have had the pleasure of knowing Attorney David Roulston for over a decade. In this time, I have been both friend and employee of David.
