ATHOL -- The Athol-Royalston Middle School football team defeated Great Falls Middle School 32-22 on Tuesday.
Nick Casella had a big day as he scored all of Athol's first three touchdowns. Casella opened the scoring with a 60-yard touchdown run and tacked on scoring runs of 15 and two yards to give ARMS a 20-6 halftime lead. Robbie Nelson had a two-point conversion run.
Mason Barrieau connected with Hudson Carlson on a 20-yard scoring strike to put ARMS up 26-6.
Cameron Burnett called his own number and took off on a seven-yard touchdown run to make it a 32-6 Athol lead.
Turners added a couple of late touchdowns to tighten things up.
Cornerback Nick Bousquet led the defensive effort with three interceptions. Barrieau also had a pick.
Kyle Lynch and John Bonilla-Ceffari anchored the defensive line. Chase Michaud was strong at defensive end.
Evan Saisa reeled in two passes for 75 yards from his tight end spot. Joey Lehtomaki, Chris Waslaske, Jake Wright, Eliezer Coston and Conner Arpide controlled the trenches for the Marauders.
ARMS (4-1) hosts Mahar next Wednesday.
