Orange Police Log


9 a.m. - Caller reports her dog ran off during the storm last night, Chase Street. The dog is a four pound Chihuahua/poodle mix.

9:30 a.m. - Caller wanted information on a trespass order that was issued against him. Officer spoke to subject.

11:06 a.m. - Athol Police advise they have a man in their lobby reporting his 88 year-old wife, who has Alzheimer, is missing, New Athol Road. Cruisers to location in Orange and K-9 activated. All cancelled at 11:15, as subject was located.

2:22 p.m. - Caller from South Main Street reports her child's cell phone was stolen June 20 from the locker room at Mahar High School. The incident was reported to school and there are no suspects.

3:15 p.m. - Walk-in reports that his furniture and other items are missing from the residence he used to reside at which has since been taken over by the bank and now new owners have moved in. Party believed the last tenant may know where his belongings are. Message left at last known number for tenant.

6:23 p.m. - Caller from North Main Street reports a raccoon in dumpster that does not appear to be sick or rabid. Caller advised to leave alone.

6:57 p.m. - Control took a call from APD regarding an erratic operator who struck a flower box and them continued on towards Athol. APD located vehicle and will send operator back. The operator was found to be learning to drive on her permit with her mother. The flower box was just dislodged and they put it back in place.

7:13 p.m. - Report of a mail box being hit on Wheeler Ave.

7:25 p.m. - Control reports that Montague Police Department is looking for information on a subject from town. In house check provided minimal information.

9:40 p.m. - Caller requests a welfare check as they were on phone with subject and heard person in background threaten to throw boiling water on person, King Street. Both units responded and resident denied this and said the other person was just upset. She denied all services and said she was fine.

9:47 p.m. - Control took a call regarding youths messing around with the sign at the library and making rude words. Youths gone on arrival. Officer put sign by door of library and placed letters in book return box.


12:15 a.m. - Control advised that a caller would like to speak with officer regarding his brother not returning his phone calls to remove property. When speaking with reporting party it was determined that he was intoxicated and advised of some options and to resolve the situation in the morning when he was sober.
