ORANGE — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday morning, Nov. 16, 2017, at Saint Mary’s Church in Orange for John W. “Jack” Connors, 70, of East Main Street, who died on Friday, Nov. 10, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.

Fr. Shaun O’Connor, pastor of Saint Mary’s, and Deacon Joe Bucci of Our Lady of Peace in Turners Falls, officiated. Janet Paoletti was the organist and Theresa Bergquist was the cantor. The Old and New Testament readings were read by Maureen Riendeau and the offertory gifts were brought forward by Jack’s daughter, Ann Cedrone, and her husband Anthony.

The pall was placed on the casket by the bearers, Albert Mailloux, Marty Picard, Barry Cormier, Bruce Mitchell, Donald Piragis and Charles Verheyan. Interment followed in South Cemetery, Orange. Following the Rites of Committal, a reception was held in Saint Mary’s Parish Hall.

Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange, was honored with directing the arrangements.

ORANGE — John W. “Jack” Connors, 70, of East Main Street, died Friday evening, Nov. 10, 2017, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.

Born in Waltham on May 15, 1947, he was a son of the late John F. and Helen (Miles) Connors and grew up in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School in 1965. He later attended Framingham State College.

On Aug. 2, 1969, Jack married Marcia A. (Mulholland) and they have enjoyed over 48 years of marriage.

Employed by Stop and Shop as a manager for many years, Jack retired in 2009. He previously had worked for Brooks Drug Company.

Jack loved music of all kinds and also enjoyed sports, especially all the Boston teams.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Marcia Connors of Orange; a daughter, Ann Cedrone and her husband, Anthony, of White Plains, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Louis Cedrone and Caitlin Cedrone.

A calling hour will be held Thursday, Nov. 16, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m., at Saint Mary’s Church, 19 Congress St., Orange, with Fr. Shaun O’Connor officiating.

Interment will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.

Flowers should be omitted and donations in Jack’s name can be made to donor’s choice.

Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange, is directing the arrangements.
