ORANGE — A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Spring field for Theresa D. (Remillard) Illingsworth, 92, of Holtshire Road, who died Dec. 17, 2016, at the Charlene Manor in Greenfield.
Fr. William Lunney of St. Jerome’s Church in Westfield and former parish Priest of St. Mary’s Church in Orange, officiated. Following the service, a reception was held at Leone’s Restaurant in Springfield.
Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange, was honored with directing the arrangements.
ORANGE — Theresa Doris Illingsworth, 92, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at the Charlene Manor Extended Care in Greenfield.
Theresa was the daughter of the late Rudolph E. and Georgiana Remillard. She was born in Holyoke and then the family moved to Fairview in 1930 and lived there until returning to Holyoke in 1943.
She graduated from Chicopee High School, class of 1942. She then worked as an office clerk at American Bosch in Chicopee. In her later years, Theresa worked as a nurse’s aide at Mont Marie Infirmary until the age of 64.
Theresa married Paul R. Illingsworth of Springfield, who served in the Coast Guard during World War II.
She leaves three sons, Robert P. Illingsworth, Earl R. Illingsworth and his longtime companion, Sheila Mannix, and Ronald B. Illingsworth and his wife, Maureen; eight grandchildren, Harold, Amy, Beth, Earl Jr., Megan, Ian, Noah, and Thomas; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and several close friends.
Theresa was predeceased by a baby girl, Ann Lorise, as well as her husband of 62 years, Paul, who died Jan. 6, 2008. She was also predeceased by sisters, Evelyn E. Lauzon and Aurora L. Stelma, as well as a brother, Emile G. Remillard.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, 895 Parker St., Springfield, on Wednesday, May 17, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the donor’s choice.
