GARDNER – Heywood Hospital’s LaChance Maternity Center welcomed Scarlett as the first baby born in 2026.
According to an announcement last Friday, Scarlett arrived at the hospital’s LaChance Maternity Center in Gardner on Jan. 2 at 11:03 a.m. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 20 inches long. Proud parents Megan Vincent and Brian Cunningham of Fitchburg are doing well and are overjoyed with their new addition, the hospital announced.
Speaking on Monday, Cunningham said they arrived at the hospital for the cesarean section and all went well. They hope to return home on Wednesday.
“We just liked the name Scarlett,” he said when asked about the child’s name.
