The Pioneer Valley Regional boys basketball team defeated Smith Academy, 50-45, in Hatfield on Wednesday. It’s the second straight win for the Panthers (2-14, 1-10 Hampshire North).
“The first half we played tonight…the ball was moving,” Pioneer coach Seth Kratz said. “They were running the offense and getting through it. It’s amazing how much better a shot looks off a nice pass. They are figuring it out. The effort is always been there but they are clicking offensively. They are understanding their roles and doing them well.”
Judah Glenn filled the stat sheet with 12 points, 11 assists and six steals. Matt Richotte led Pioneer with 18 points. Hayden Killeen added 12 points on four 3-pointers.
“They are hitting their stride,” Kratz said. “Unfortunately late in the season. It’s been great to see. To witness the growth. I am really stressing play the game the right way. Basketball will reward you for playing the game the right way.”
