Quabbin Photo Group to present local nature photographer’s program
BELCHERTOWN – The Quabbin Photo Group will feature Dale Monette’s program “I See You,” a compilation of some of his dramatic nature photographs along with how he captured the images, on Monday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m. at the Belchertown Recreation Department, 66 State St., behind the Belchertown Police Department. The program is free and open to the public.
“Throughout my travels doing programs, meeting people, and selling prints and books over the last 10 years, people always comment on how they enjoy the stories that go with the images I show during my presentations,” said Monette. “This program delves into what camera equipment and lenses I used for the images, the habitat I was in, the time of the season and the circumstances that made getting the photograph possible.”
Monette is a nature photographer specializing in wildlife and landscapes, primarily of the Quabbin Reservoir. Through his photographs, he shares his familiarity with the land and the animals living throughout Massachusetts and the Quabbin. He spent his career working at Quabbin as a program coordinator for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.
During the 1980s he was involved in the successful efforts to bring back the common loons and bald eagles as nesting species to the Quabbin. Monette is well versed in the nature and history of the Quabbin Reservoir and makes presentations to the public on these themes. See more of Monette’s photography at www.northquabbinphotography.com.
The Quabbin Photo Group welcomes photographers of all skill levels and interests. Meetings are open to the public, and new members and guests are always welcome. Learn more at QuabbinPhotoGroup.com.
