ATHOL — After 19 years in the role of Athletic Director, Athol’s Dave King will step down from the position beginning July 1.
“It’s truly been an honor to serve in the role as Athletic Director for the past 19 years,” said King in an email. “I appreciate the support and coverage of our student athletes over the many years.”
King, who also coaches the Athol boys varsity soccer team, will remain the Athol High School assistant principal.
Dan Bevis will take over the Athol-Royalston School District athletic director role. Bevis has served as the assistant athletic director before his new role.
Bevis is also the coach of the Athol boys varsity basketball team and previously coached the girls varsity basketball team. He also teaches physical education at Athol High School.
