FITCHBURG  — Workers Credit Union was one of 145 across the nation honored and ranked as a “Best-In-State Credit Union” by Forbes magazine. Only three Massachusetts credit unions made this year’s Forbes list.

“We are proud to be ranked on this prestigious list,” said Doug Peterson, president and chief executive officer at WCU. “As we grow and continue to provide superior financial services to our members, we are honored they would give us high marks for customer service.”

America’s Best-In-State Banks and Credit Unions were chosen based on an independent survey from a vast sample of more than 25,000 U.S. citizens spread across the country, conducted by Statista. Each participant was asked to name all banks or credit unions where they have or previously had a checking or savings account. Participants evaluated credit unions on general satisfaction and recommendation as well as trust; terms and conditions; branch services; digital services and financial advice. For each criterion a detailed battery of questions was asked.

Workers Credit Union serves more than 100,000 members. WCU has four offices and 16 full-service branches in Acton, Athol, Chelmsford, Fitchburg, Gardner, Groton, Lancaster, Leominster, Lunenburg, Orange, Townsend, Westford. Visit: www.workerscu.com
