Grace Dufour bested a personal record and qualified for the PVIAC championships in the long jump for the Athol girls indoor track & field team, Friday at Smith College in Northampton.

Dufour’s jump (14 feet, 10½ inches) was good for first place against both Commerce and Sci-Tech.

Athol won both its meets against the Springfield schools, beating Commerce, 65-13, and Sci-Tech, 70-22.

Dufour blazed past the competition in the 300-meter sprint (46.43 seconds) for another pair of first-place finishes.

Shelby Mailloux got a first-place finish against Commerce in the 600 (2:00.96) and the 55 hurdles (11.20) against Sci-Tech

Rashelly Dalmau-Gonzalez continued her impressive rookie campaign finishing first (27-8) in the shot put against Commerce.

Athol 69, Commerce 23; Athol 70, Sci-Tech 22 — Mason Barrieau placed first (37.51) against Commerce and Sci-Tech in the 300 in a pair of team wins for the Red Raider boys team on Friday.

Barrieau was second overall in the event.

Barrieau placed second in the long jump (19-0), behind Sci-Tech’s Ralique Velez (20-2½), who was second overall against the field.

Dennis St. Jean took first (1:34.04) against Sci-Tech in the 600.

Anthony Marcucci beat Sci-Tech in the mile (5:06.66) for a first-place finish.

Mahar 72, Hampden Charter 21; South Hadley 63, Mahar 32 — Kamryn Reilly was first against both schools in the 55 dash and the long jump, but the Senators girls team split on Friday.

Reilly was first overall among the field in the long jump, and second overall in the 55.

Carra Fitzgerald broke her own school record in the 2-mile (12:18.59), finishing first against South Hadley and Hampden Charter all while placing first overall among the field.

Reilly took two more first-place finishes against Hampden Charter in the 300 (46.36) and the high jump (4-8).

Caroline Chase placed first against Hampden Charter in the 600 (1:51.97).

Emma Savoy’s performance in the 1,000 was good for first (3:39.16) against Hampden Charter.

Grace Rich also got a first against Hampden Charter in the mile (6:12.39).

Mahar 55, Hampden Charter 21; South Hadley 75, Mahar 15 — The Senators boys team picked up a win on Friday night.

Nathan Sakowicz took two firsts in the 300 (41.43).

Liam O’Donnell just missed first against the Tigers in the 1,000 (3:05.52). South Hadley’s Jacob Poirier took first (3:05.45) in the event.

O’Donnell added a first against Hampden Charter in the 2-mile run (11:03.26).

Thomas Shortis beat out Hampden Charter for first in the mile (11:03.26).
