7:40 a.m. — Motor vehicle accident, East River Street, no injuries. Caller reports a mirror was clipped on a truck. Spoke with party who explained how the truck was parked and another truck that was passing by hit the mirror. Spoke with other operator.

7:45 a.m. — Welfare check, Ward Road. Caller requesting a welfare check as person is not answering phone. Spoke with party who was all set and had his phone shut off.

8:10 a.m. — Call into station about items found in lobby, East Main Street. Some pills were found in a sandwich bag in the front foyer. Disposed of in pill return box at the station.

8:29 a.m. — Medical emergency, East River Street.

10:28 a.m. — 911 hang up, West River Street. On call back spoke to female party whom advises she is a medical assistant who said there was no emergency. 

10:33 a.m. — Abandoned 911 call from a store, New Athol Road. On call back, received a steady busy tone. Information given to Athol dispatch.

11:11 a.m. — Animal complaint, Brookside Road. Caller reports male party dragged his dog (brindle pitbull), stomped on his back and choked him. Caller showed officer a video from his dash cam that was consistent with his story. Was holding onto the leash putting washer fluid in car when dog pulled away. Pulled back dog and got it to set down. Checked dog and it was fine.

11:38 a.m. — Welfare check, Red Brook Lane. 

12:26 p.m. — EMS Alarm, Lifeline activated, Daniel Shays Highway.

2:32 p.m. — Minor two car accident, Johnson Road, no injuries. On arrival, damage was found to be just over $1,000.

3:30 p.m. — Motor vehicle complaint, Adams Street and South Main Street. Report received of a newer model black 4D VW Golf with a Red Sox insignia sped by a Swift River bus when the bus had its lights on.

5:05 p.m. — Animal complaint, Daniel Shays Highway. Report of a loose brown horse likely from Crimson Acres. Animal not in the road but caller fears it could get near the road soon. Spoke with RP who stated the brown horse was loose but returned on its own. He believed a portion of the fence may have been knocked down. Front gate was found to be partially open and was closed. Attempts to contact property owner were unsuccessful.

6:13 p.m. — Traffic stop, New Athol Road for defective equipment. Verbal warning given.

6:17 p.m. — Motor vehicle lockout, Nina Pierce Circle. Entry gained.

6:52 p.m. — Traffic stop, East River Street for speeding. Verbal warning given.

8:42 p.m. — Traffic stop, East River Street. Verbal warning given for defective equipment (tail light out).

9:20 p.m. — Motor vehicle lockout, West River Street, Jeep still running. Entry gained.

9:27 p.m. — Traffic stop, East River Street for speeding. Verbal warning given.

9:44 p.m.— Traffic stop on South Main Street for speeding. Operator given a verbal warning.

10 p.m. — Medical emergency, Clifton Street.

10:44 p.m. — Disturbance, Stone Valley Road. Report of a loud television. Spoke with tenant and advised him of complaint. He will turn down volume and apologized.

11:33 p.m. — Motor vehicle stopped on East Main Street for red light violation. Issued warning.

11:50 p.m. — Mental health welfare check, Highland Street.

11:53 p.m. — Operator was given a warning for defective equipment (brake light), West River Street.

Saturday, March 9

12:22 a.m. — Motor  vehicle violation, Horton Lane. Officer observed vehicle to be traveling down dead end roads and appeared to have no destination. Officer stopped vehicle in question and operator advised he was just driving around. 

1:11 a.m. — Officer wanted, East River Street. Caller reports party had a fit and broke chair. When she asked him to help with the children, and said he was threatening her. She wanted to gather her belongings and leave for the night. Nothing physical occured. Party did not want to converse.

5:15 a.m. — Male/female disturbance, East River Street. Subjects have been fighting for over four hours. Spoke with both who said it was just verbal. They were advised of the complaint and will call it a night.

10:31 a.m. — Medical emergency, Cottage Street.

10:42 a.m. — Person walked into the station looking to speak to an officer regarding his renting tenants. Information was forwarded.

11 a.m. — Issued three bylaw violations, West Main Street. Fines mailed to property owners for failing to clear snow from the sidewalk.

11 a.m.— Bylaw violation, West Main Street. Fine mailed to property owner (U.S. Bank National) for failing to clear snow from the sidewalk.

11 a.m. — Bylaw violation, East Main Street. Fine mailed to property owner (The Bank of New York Mellon) for failing to clear snow from the sidewalk.

2:09 p.m. — Welfare check, East River Street. Person was supposed to meet his military unit at the Honey Farms on Daniel Shays Highway. Unit members are stating that he has been very distraught and are concerned because of statements he made. He is not answering his phone. Verizon was requested to ping the phone. Contact was made with party and he spoke with his Sergeant. All set for now.

2:20 p.m. — Walk in to the station reporting debit card that was left in the ATM, New Athol Road. Unable to locate owner. Will follow up up with bank on Monday. Pleaced in lost and found.

2:51 p.m. — Animal complaint, South Main Street. Party reports that she has a Great Dane following her around and is rather annoying. She would like someone notified.  Dog officer is out of state and will reach out to her assistant. Party said dog lives on Hayden Street and should answer to his name. Dog officer reports owners are driving around looking for him and was returned.

5:04 p.m. — Motor vehicle accident, no injuries, Congress Street. Car vs. parked van. Damage to both vehicles. Accident report to be completed.

5:44 p.m.— Suicide attempt, East River Street.

8:01 p.m. — Traffic stop, East Main Street for defective equipment (headlight out). Verbal warning given.

10:06 p.m. — Noise complaint, Bacon Street. Loud music coming from the first floor. No loud music on arrival. Spoke with caller who said the music was loud but it had already been turned down. Spoke with involved party who said he will keep the music down.
