We have a second week in a row that will see no new issues from either the U.S. Postal Service or the U.S. Mint.

The U.N. Postal Administration issued nine stamps on Sept. 23 to support the Climate Action Summit it sponsored on that day at the U.N. headquarters in New York.

The stamps have designs that reflect the artist’s conception of what the effects of global warming will be if it is not curtailed. Two of the stamps will be issued from each of the U.N. post offices in New York, Geneva, and Vienna in local currencies. There will also be three souvenir sheets, each containing a single round stamp.

The U.N. Postal Administration has a website at unstamps.org for information on ordering these stamps.

Many coin collectors are unaware that the U.S. Mint released 2 million examples of each of the 2019 National Park quarters into circulation with the “W” mint mark from the West Point mint.

These coins are not available directly from the U.S. Mint, as this method of distribution is meant to encourage collectors to search bank tolls or their change to find these quarters. Dealers who offer these coins for sale are asking as much as t$10 each for uncirculated examples.

There are no nearby stamp or coin shows this weekend.
