If you wrote down your favorite team’s high school schedule at the beginning of the season, you better hope you wrote it in pencil.

Like many other sports leagues around the country, local teams are beginning to move games around this week. Turners Falls athletic director Adam Graves confirmed Monday all Thunder teams are going on pause through Jan. 1, with Jan. 2 targeted as the date to resume practices.

Three Turners games were postponed this week: the girls basketball game against Pioneer, which was scheduled for Monday, the boys basketball game against Athol on Tuesday and the girls basketball game against Mahar on Thursday.

Turners’ game against the Senators will be made up on Jan. 21 while the girls game against the Panthers and the boys game against the Bears will be made up at a date to be determined.

The Thunder aren’t the only team forced to postpone games this week. The Lenox girls basketball game at Mahar on Monday was postponed to a date to be determined while Tuesday’s boys basketball game between the Senators and Quaboag was moved to Feb. 5. The Frontier and Hopkins boys basketball game on Tuesday was moved to Jan. 22.

With the Springfield schools currently paused due to COVID-19, Wednesday’s wrestling meet between the Senators and Duggan has been postponed to a date to be determined.
