ATHOL — The Athol Golden Age Club announces its schedule of meetings for the remainder of 2022. All meetings are held at the Athol Senior Center, 82 Freedom St.
■Monday, Sept. 19, at 1 p.m.: “Dessert Social.” Join us as we share sweet treats/snacks and reconnect with each other after these hard times. Any business conducted at this meeting with be brief. Desserts will be provided. If you wish to bring a dessert, please feel free.
■Monday, Oct. 17, at 1 p.m.: Regular business meeting.
■Monday, Nov. 21, at noon: Thanksgiving Potluck and Toys for Tots collection. We will also be collecting for Toys for Tots, so please bring a new, unwrapped toy for a donation. As noted, the potluck starts at noon.
■Monday, Dec. 19, at noon: Annual holiday gathering. Our holiday meal will be catered by Dan Carr once again. The cost is $10 per individual. As noted, the meal starts at noon.
As always, any volunteer assistance is so greatly appreciated when it comes to setting up for and breaking down after our meetings. We all know the proverb “Many hands make light work” — did you know it was first recorded in English in the early 1300s? Thankfully, some sayings never go out of style!
