Frontier takes down Athol boys’ track

SOUTH DEERFIELD — The Athol boys track and field team lost to Frontier Regional High School 111-33 on Friday afternoon.

The Red Raiders had only two first place finishes, Mason Barrieau in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.2 and the team’s 4×400 meter relay team with a time of 3:48.5.

Barrieau also had second place finishes in the long jump (18 feet, 9 inches) and triple jump (38-11). Manny O’Lari was the team’s lone third place finisher, coming in third in the shot put with a throw on 35-2.75.

Second place finishes for the Red Raiders include Chris Waslaske (shot put, 38-11), Tim Soucie (discus, 95-10), Dennis St. Jean (one mile, 5:05.02) and Chase Michaud (800 meter run, 2:10.2). The team’s 4×100 meter relay team came in second as well.
