The Mahar junior varsity softball team lost to Easthampton, 16-2, on the road on Tuesday.

One bad inning doomed the Senators.

Anahbel Anderholm (four assists) and Maddie Blattenberger (three putouts) led the defensive effort for Mahar.

Anya Roberts had a strong game catching and added a hit for Mahar. 

Blattenberger added a knock for the Senators.

Hailie Meeker pitched two innings with five strikeouts, splitting time with Makayla Mathurin who pitched three innings.

Turners Falls 24, Mahar 6 – The Senators gave up 12 runs in the first inning in a home loss to the Thunder on Monday.

Three critical errors by Mahar aided Turners Falls’ big inning. 

Roberts paced the offense with a double and two RBI.

Mathurin and Meeker split time in the circle, combining for four strikeouts.

Holly Smith flashed some leather in rightfield for the Senators with two putouts. 

Middle School baseball

Greenfield 25, Mahar 5 –  Will Barnes, Noah Bailey and David Vitello had hits for the Senators, but the Green Wave pulled away after the first inning in the loss on April 24.    

The Senators allowed numerous walks to let Greenfield take the lead after only trailing 2-1 after the first inning.

Frontier 19, Mahar 0 – The Red Hawks no-hit the Senators in a loss for Mahar on April 23.
