ATHOL — Heavy snowfalls in recent months punctuated by a quartet of nor’easters have chewed up the cache of snow days in many area school districts.

Athol-Royalston Regional Schools Superintendent Darcy Fernandes has reported to the School Committee the projected last day of school in the district is June 21.

Other area school districts’ last day of classes, as of Monday, were reported as follows:

June 11 — Petersham Center School.

June 13 — Mahar Regional High School.

June 13 — Orange Elementary School.

June 22 — Phillipston Memorial School.

June 22 — Swift River Elementary School.

June 25 — Warwick Center School.

(Erving Elementary School date not available at press time).

District Enrollment

The Athol-Royalston Regional School District student enrollment totals were reported at the school committee meeting. There were 1,538 students enrolled as of Oct. 1.

Athol High School (385 students) with 102 in Grade 9, 92 in Grade 10, 77 in grade 11 and 103 in Grade 12.

Athol-Royalston Middle School (392 students) with 97 in Grade 5, 89 in Grade 6, 102 in grade 7 and 104 in Grade 8.

Athol Community Elementary School (624 students) with 100 in pre-K, 109 in kindergarten, 109 in Grade 1, 102 in grade 2, 101 in Grade 3, and 101 in Grade 4.

Royalston Community School (137 students) with 129 in kindergarten, 13 in Grade 1, 22 in Grade 2, 17 in Grade 3, 19 in Grade 4, 23 in Grade 5, and 24 in Grade 6.
