ATHOL — The Athol boys volleyball team moved within two wins of clinching a Western Massachusetts Tournament berth after defeating Leominster High School, 3-0, Thursday.
The Red Raiders won 25-9, 25-21, 26-24. It was their first sweep since their first match of the season against Ware. Athol improved to 8-3.
Nick Casella led the Red Raiders with a .556 hitting percentage along with 11 kills. Jordan Carrasquillo added 10 kills, while Hudson Carlson had five. Justin Blake and Colby Mason each had four kills, while Colby Soltysik added two and Anthony Potenti one.
Soltysik added 30 assists, while Carrasquillo and Hayden Herk added one each. Soltysik had three aces, while Blake, Mason and Casella each had one ace.
