ATHOL — The Athol Police Department reported heavy graffiti damage to a municipal parking garage on Exchange Street and to the Fish Park band stand on Saturday, Sept. 29 around 2 p.m.
The town’s Department of Public Works was notified about the damage in order to cover the vulgar language. The police department are currently investigating the incident said Athol DPW Assistant Superintendent Dick Kilhart.
Kilhart said though the department does have graffiti removal material, it will wait until the police complete their investigation to remove the images.
“They may be required to remediate this situation,” said Kilhart in an email.
