It was a tough trip to Springfield for the Greenfield High School volleyball team, as the Green Wave fell to Sabis International Charter School via a 3-0 sweep in an independent match on Monday.
The Green Wave dropped the first two sets 25-14, 25-14 before suffering a 25-11 defeat in the final set.
Korynne Callahan served and hit aggressively in the loss.
F.C. Bulldogs
Tyler Girard ran for 62 yards and a score in the Franklin County Bulldogs’ 33-12 loss to Northampton in Suburban League PeeWee football action on Sunday.
Bodie Burke scored a touchdown on the ground and Casey Burke had a two-point conversion for the Bulldogs. Jonathan Bones caught a 12-yard pass from Bodie Burke in the loss.
Xavier Woodard, Carmelo Bashaw, Jacob Wilder, Julian Bowden-Smith and Casey Burke combined for 12 tackles while Bodie Burke had seven tackles and a sack.
Chasen A Mason
The 11th annual Chasen A Mason 5k is set for this Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The race begins at the Masonic Lodge on Masonic Street in Turners Falls. Online registration is available at www.runreg.com, with race day registration beginning at 8 a.m.

The 9th Annual Casual Fun Halloween 5K Run/Walk & Kid Bike is set for Oct. 26 at 9 a.m. beginning at Northfield Town Hall.
