ORANGE — A motorcycle crash on a Warwick Road curve claimed the life of a West Brookfield man on Saturday afternoon.
Mark Clarke, 64, was pronounced dead at Athol Hospital at 5 p.m., roughly one hour after the accident, which remains under investigation.
According to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, Clarke had been traveling on Warwick Road behind a friend on Saturday. When the friend reached the end of Warwick Road, he realized Clarke was no longer behind him. The friend turned around and found Clarke and Clarke’s motorcycle down an embankment near 24 Warwick Road and summoned emergency responders.
State troopers from the Crime Scene Services Section (CSSS), the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) and the Detective Unit attached to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene.
