The Four Rivers boys basketball team defeated The Putney School, 56-35, on the road in Putney, Vt. on Monday. The Otter had multiple players fill up the stat sheet.
Kolin Broderick had 23 points, nine steals, five rebounds and four assists. Russell Herbert scored 18 points with six steals and nine rebounds. Henry Schwerin added 11 points, five steals, three rebounds and four assists.
The Otters held a 31-17 halftime lead. The Putney School closed the gap in the third quarter but a monster fourth quarter for the Otters secured the win. Four Rivers went on a 23-4 run to close the game.
Four Rivers begins River Valley Athletic League playoff play on Feb. 10. The second-seeded Otters will host a semifinal game at Stoneleigh-Burnham at 5:30 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for Feb. 12.
Girls basketball
Greenfield 29, Bement School 19 — The Greenfield seventh and eighth grade girls Suburban team knocked off previously unbeaten Bement School at Greenfield Middle School on Monday.
Hailey Sadley scored seven points for the Green Wave. Leah Batiste added six points. Sophia Lapan, Mackenzie McIver and Jordyn Johnson each chipped in with two points. The Green Wave play their final game of the season at Turners Falls on Feb. 10.
