Trump and his accomplices in Congress will try to cancel or “postpone” the November elections under some false pretext.
Failing that, they will try to implement selective voter suppression, in a number of different ways. They will attempt to reduce the number of polling places in the Democrat-leaning districts of swing states, thereby creating hours-long lines, and by outlawing the provision of food or water by bystanders to the would-be voters in line. They also will attempt to prevent mail-in voting, because mail-in voting has been historically utilized more by Democrats than by Republicans. They will attempt to subject voters to the provisions of the so-called “SAVE” voter ID act, which would disproportionately disenfranchise married women and minorities.
Worst of all, Trump will attempt to implement selective voter suppression by stationing masked, unaccountable, heavily armed and poorly trained ICE thugs at polling stations — in particular, at polling stations in the Democrat-leaning districts of swing states. If he succeeds in this, the ICE thugs stationed in these districts will attempt to intimidate and harass voters by challenging non-white, women, Democrat, and independent voters’ identities, at least. Furthermore, the ICE thugs will seize any excuse to disrupt and even prematurely shut down these polling stations on Election Day, thereby completely disenfranchising voters in these Democrat-leaning districts.
Contact your representatives in Congress and tell them to outlaw all such voter suppression tactics, and, in particular, to outlaw ICE presence at polling stations.
