ATHOL – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing bridge repairs on Route 2 westbound in Athol on Monday, March 9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

Route 2 westbound will be closed at exit 77, and traffic will be detoured off the highway, returning to Route 2 westbound via exit 75. All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area. Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed and use caution.
