Alpine Ski: Mohawk Trail’s Addie Loomis earns seventh straight victory

The seventh and final PVIAC alpine ski race of the regular season took place on Tuesday at Berkshire East Mountain Resort in Charlemont. 

Mohawk Trail’s Addie Loomis closed out the regular season with an individual victory for the seventh consecutive race, taking first on Tuesday on the girls side after a run of 31.00 seconds on the giant slalom course. 

Fellow Warrior Lydie Pinkham wasn’t far behind, taking second with a run of 31.69 seconds.

Sofiya Slocik-Gritzner placed fourth (32.38), Grace Sisum placed 11th (34.64), Caroline Makoskiej came in 15th (35.46), Brooke Koshinsky earned 16th (36.01) and Jaylynn Peters took 26th (38.69) for Mohawk Trail. 

In the boys race, Mohawk Trail’s Phineas Tuttman earned second with a time of 45.65 seconds on the slalom course.

Grayson Bishop placed seventh (48.73), Benjamin Zarotny came in ninth (49.74), Liam Zarotny placed 12th (51.30), Gunnar Triggs took 15th (53.61), Zavel Gardner came in 19th (56.63) and Xerxes Law earned 29th (1:01.89) for Mohawk Trail. 

The next time the Warriors will be on the mountain is next Tuesday, when they compete in the annual PVIAC Individual Championship back at Berkshire East.
