ATHOL – On Friday, Nov. 29, members of the Athol Woman’s Club set up the Memory Tree on the bandstand on the Uptown Common in Athol.

The tree was donated by Al and Bonnie Benjamin and the swags and roping were provided by MacMannis Florist. The Woman’s Club Memory Tree is offered to the community as an opportunity to remember loved ones who are no longer with us to celebrate the holiday season.

For each dollar donated, a light on the tree is dedicated to a loved one, and the names of those honored are printed in the Athol Daily News. Forms can be found at Else Where, 1485 Main St., MacMannis Florist, 2108 Main St., and the Athol Public Library, 568 Main St. Donations can be mailed to the Memory Tree, c/o Athol Woman’s Club, P.O. Box 194, Athol, MA 01331. Money raised is returned to the community through scholarships and service projects.
