Athol Police Logs June 23 – July 4 Sunday, June 23

9:04 p.m. - Party from Main Street reporting they looked at camera footage they have from Friday into Saturday (6/21-6/22) and they saw their basement was broken into twice.

Monday, June 24

7:59 a.m. - DPW requesting a welfare check on a male party walking on Pinedale Road. Roughly 30 years old, about 5’9, blonde hair and a scruffy beard, white T-shirt and brown sweatpants. Reporting party stated he was walking in and out of traffic, he also approached a DPW employee and asked is he was God. Checked the area, unable to locate.

12:25 p.m. - Parties from Chestnut Street into the lobby reporting their child and them are being harassed by another juvenile and they are threatening to egg their house.

2:10 p.m. - Male party from Goddard Street requesting information on defending himself when it comes to bears in the area. Contacted EPO and Mass Wildlife to have someone reach out to the reporting party. Obtained a phone number from Mass Wildlife for him to contact their bear biologist, who will assist him.

3:26 p.m. - Report of six females fighting in the area of Metropolitan Court. Checked the area, females gone on arrival.

4:09 p.m. - Female calling from Main Street about a group of kids that opened her door twice. Officer located the parties and spoke to three juveniles who were trying to get into the store and did not realize it was an apartment door.

7:36 p.m. - Female calling 911 from North Orange Road, upset over speeding vehicles. Advised to call the landline and was told officers have been conducting radar and will continue to do so.

Thursday, June 27

4:50 p.m. - Caller reporting kids screaming behind her location on South Street. Not sure if it is children having fun or not. Children were just having fun in the pool, no issues found.

7:13 p.m. - Suspicious activity reported on Partridgeville Road. Man in a white truck looks like he is about to take sand from this area. Described as approximately 5’10” wearing shorts, dark hair with a wheelbarrow and a shovel with a yellow handle. No issues, party was allowed to remove rock from the owner.

Sunday, June 30

10:45 a.m. - Female calling asking if there have been any accidents in the past hour. She stated her friend went to Cumberlands around 9:30 a.m. and hasn’t been back. She is not reporting him as missing and will call back if she needs to. Party is driving an electric scooter. Male party located.

Monday, July 1

7:44 a.m. - Anonymous caller from Pleasant Street reporting a cement truck blocking the road and causing a traffic issue. Spoke with a worker on scene that stated a very angry male party was yelling at them for the location of the truck. Stated the truck was in the roadway for a brief period of time to offload items and pull into driveway. Advised to call back if they needed to be in the road for any length of time.

11:19 a.m. - Walk-in to station to report that someone stole the gun safe out of his truck last night. The safe contains on .40 Ruger handgun. Firearm entered into NCIC as stolen.

Thursday, July 4

9:04 p.m. - Officer advising of fireworks laws on Shore Drive. Parties were advised of the laws,person igniting the fireworks fled.
