H.S. Roundup: Frontier girls track stays unbeaten with win over Turners

The Frontier girls track and field team had the winner in each event on Friday against Turners Falls, with Cadi Wells-Robinson winning the shot put (27 feet, 11 inches) and the discus (74-11), Hannah Davis taking the high jump (4-8) and the 100 hurdles (18.2 seconds) and Sophia Leone coming in first in the 100 (13.8) and the 200 (29.3) as the Redhawks earned a 143-2 victory in South Deerfield Friday.
Rounding out the Frontier winners were Lilly Novak in the javelin (75-8), Nicole Plasse in the long jump (15-9), Brooke Davis in the triple jump (30-4.25), Ayla Starr in the pole vault (10-0), Abigail Howard in the mile (6:09.8) and 800 (2:49.4), Claire McFarland in the 400 (69.1), Maddie Antes in the 400 hurdles (79.3) and Sylvie DiBartolomeo in the 2 mile (13:13.3).
The Redhawks won the 4x100 (55.3) and 4x400 (4:50.2) relays.
Frontier 109, Franklin Tech 35 — Alex Schreiber won the shot put (35-6.5) and the discus (119-5) while Ian Burt took the long jump (19-1) and the triple jump (38-0.5) and Erich Brown finished in first in the high jump (6-2) and the 400 hurdles (69.2) in the Redhawks’ win over the Eagles in South Deerfield on Friday.
Other Frontier winners were Aiden Dredge in the javelin (134-8), Ben Cachiguango in the 110 hurdles (17.0) and the 200 (24.3), Evan Hedlund in the mile (4:54.3) and 2 mile (11:17.9), Fernando Saravia in the 400 (54.2) and Aidan Valderrama in the 800 (2:14.5). The Redhawks won the 4x100 (47.1) and 4x400 (4:20.5) relays.
Cam Candelaria won the 100 (11.8) while Owen LaValley took the pole vault (8-6) for Franklin Tech.
Granby 3, Greenfield 2 — The Green Wave scored two runs in the first inning but were held scoreless the rest of the way, with the Rams rallying to tally three in the top of the seventh to defeat Greenfield at Vets Field on Friday.
Michael Pierce had a strong day on the hill for the Green Wave, going the distance and striking out 14. Malik Moore tallied two hits while Deven Dubie, John Marchefka and Caleb Thomas each had a hit for Greenfield.

Agawam 3, Athol 0 — Ashan Santiago tallied three kills while Logan McGrath, Nate Torres and Warren Taylor each had a kill in the Bears’ 25-9, 25-16, 25-11 loss to the Brownies on Friday in Agawam.
Holden Girouard dished five assists in the loss.
SICS 4, Turners 1 — Noah Kolodziej had the lone win of the day for the Thunder, pulling out a 7-5, 6-4 victory in No. 2 doubles in Turners’ loss to the visiting Bulldogs on Friday.
