Bulletin Board: Mahar girls basketball falls to Littleton in Round of 32

After knocking off Pioneer Valley Christian in the preliminary round, the Mahar girls basketball team was unable to get past Littleton on Friday to move on to the MIAA Division 4 Round of 16.
The No. 26 Senators hung tough in the first half, trailing just 21-13 at the break. The No. 7 Tigers exploded for 38 points in the second half however, pulling away with a 59-35 victory in Littleton.
The Senators closed out their season with a 12-10 record.
Kendrah Doane finished with a double-double for Mahar, scoring 16 points and snatching 12 rebounds. Hayden Comeau scored eight points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Alivia Patch scored five points, Julia Hatch knocked down a 3, Nevaeh Scribner tallied two points and Astha Bernard made a free throw in the loss.
Registration for the Newt Guilbault Youth Baseball League is underway.
Registration runs until March 11, with registration done online or printed out and mailed to PO Box 189, Turners Falls, MA 01376.
Practices begin in April, with games running through May and June. The league takes players age 5-12, with players split into leagues based on age level.
