Bulletin Board: Triton, Descavich tangle in GGSL final (PHOTOS)

Triton Automotive capped off an undefeated season in the Greenfield Girls Softball League’s Ponytail Division on Thursday, taking home the championship with a 15-4 win in the title game over Descavich Plumbing at Murphy Park.
Raine Wonsey and Jaelyn Boliski each homered, Lenyx White knocked a double and a triple while Bella Trinque cracked a pair of hits in the win. Lexi Hawkins struck out seven and Wonsey struck out six for Triton.
Ella Rotkiewicz doubled, Ameliya Galbraith and Haddie Connelley tallied singles and Charlie Bishop struck out six for Descavich.
FC League
Summer Routhier struck out 13 and didn’t allow a hit while Marilyn Abarua knocked two hits and Abby Moffatt, Bianca Reynolds and Ivy Lopez hit safely in the Fury’s 12-2 win over the Magic on Wednesday in a FCL Summer Softball contest.
Olivia May struck out nine and Bianca Robinson had two strikeouts in the loss.
■ Corrine Charlebois, Brooke Skiwron, Mia Shaw and Autumn Thornton each had multiple hits while Riana Shaw and Addison Talbot hit safely in the Bombers’ 15-10 win over the Flyers on Wednesday.
■ To close out the night, Shelby O’Leary had two hits while Maggie Fay pitched a five-inning perfect game while striking out all 15 batters she faced to lift the Defenders to a 7-0 win over the Havoc.

GMLB
Osiah Ballard knocked a single that scored two runs in the top of the eighth to allow Maniatty’s to take home the GMLB Majors championship with a 6-5 win over Gilmore and Farrell on Thursday.
Maniatty’s won the series, 2-0.
Conner Bergeron hit an inside-the-park homer and tripled while Ethan Burgh pitched five innings before Osiah Ballard came on for the final three in the win.
Bodie Burke struck out 14 and surrendered just two hits, Desmond Drake had a hit and pitched while Jamie McCarthy, Asa Bouchard and Burke hit safely for Gilmore and Farrell.
■ The GMLB AAA championship series is heading to a third game after Denny’s Pantry earned a 15-10 win over Pioneer Valley Tire to even the series, 1-1, on Thursday.
Benedict Shivone struck out 12, Quest Petersen and Ben Trombley each knocked three hits while Kent Warner reached three times in the win.
Xavier Woodard knocked two doubles, Fischer Williams had three hits and Riley Gray tallied two hits for Pioneer Valley Tire.
■ The GMLB AA trophy was given out on Thursday, with Gagne Wealth Management winning the series over Fitzgerald Real Estate with a 13-8 victory.
Jason Philstetler, Blake White, Noah Stoffolano, Carson White, Mason Lovett, Sean Degen, Spencer Wyngowski, Yusef Bensen, Ej Morley and Connor Martin competed for Gagne.
Kyrie Petrizzi-Richmond, Noah Marguet, Vinny Toothaker, Dezmond Jurkowski, Damien McCarthy, Braith Brothers, Ben Thompson, Owen Little, Theo Schulte and Cooper Deane competed for Fitzgerald.
Mickey Mantle
Shawn Baumann had two hits and an RBI while Nico Fasulo singled and tripled in Frontier’s 10-7 loss to Dalton on Thursday in South Deerfield.
Ben Caron knocked a hit that brought in two runs while Phillip Morin and Aidan Heffernan each had a hit and an RBI for Frontier. Austin D’Urso struck out seven in the loss.
Northfield Summer Series
Taylor Williams was the winner of this weeks Northfield Summer Road Race, completing the 3.3 mile course in a time of 20 minutes, 52 seconds.
Cyrus Belmont (21:01) came in second followed by Nathaniel Belmont (21:06), Alex Scotera (22:54) and David Thomas (23:30). Marcy Cabanas (25:27) came in tenth overall and was the first woman finisher. Twenty-two runners and two walkers participated.
DRIVE League
Jon Breor scored 18 points and Grayson Thomas tossed in 14 points as Greenfield knocked off Brattleboro, 75-53, on Tuesday in a boys varsity contest in the DRIVE League at Greenfield High School.
Oscar Korson scored 22 points and John Haskins added 11 points in the loss.
The second game of the night saw Greg Stone score 16 points and Garrett Willard add 14 points in Smith Academy’s 46-25 win over Turners Falls. Jackson Cogswell led the Thunder with 10 points.
To close out the night Vincent Carr scored 10 points in Hampshire’s 62-49 win over Easthampton. Noah Murray finished with 10 points in the loss.
In men’s league action at Greenfield High School on Wednesday, Perry Belcher scored 26 points and Chase Berg added 17 points in OSC-Manning’s 76-75 win over Rattigan & Sons. Collin Boudreau (22) and Robin Marchese (21) led Rattigan in scoring.
In the second game on Wednesday Lew Borden finished with 18 points and Josh Hanson tallied 15 points in The Future’s 89-71 victory against Bruso Computer Solutions. Matt Gibson had 21 points and Joey Paoletti scored 10 points in the loss.
The final game of the night saw Parker Hickey score 21 points and Tyson Dowdy chip in 18 points in Team Markol’s 95-83 triumph against Smooth Operators. Jacob Cancel finished with 28 points and Jordan Lanoue tallied 21 points for Smooth Operators.
PV Women’s
Whitney Roberts tripled and Madison Philbrook doubled in Ashfield’s 14-11 win over Goshen in a Pioneer Valley Women’s Softball game on Thursday.
Tyalor Boutwell homered and Ellen Bzomowski had two RBIs in the loss.
■ Brittany Tuttle and Kristin Ouellette each had four hits in Conway’s 20-6 win over Shelburne on Thursday.
Lexi Farrick and Amanda Chapin each had three hits in the loss.
Thomas Women’s League
Karren Sacco carded the low gross (44) while Dorothy Adams shot the low net (25) in the Thomas Memorial Women’s League on Wednesday in Turners Falls.
In closest to the pin, Robin Hartnett came out on top on No. 7 (10 feet, five inches).
Timmons-Messer League
Matt Deane and Fran O’Neill (34) and Sunny Lucas and Paul Clark (35) had the low gross scores in the Timmons-Messer League at the Northfield Golf Course on Wednesday.
Andy Chartier and Elton Kinsman (22) and Andy Sena and Marty Powers (25) shot the low net scores. John Paresky won closest to the pin on No. 6 (5-3) and Jim Cadran won on No. 7 (4-9). Deane was the match medalist with a 34.
