Greenfield’s Tayler Bergeron put on a show to hand the Frontier girls soccer team its first loss of the season on Friday. 

The sophomore recorded a hat trick and added an assist as well, leading the Green Wave to a 4-3 triumph at Herlihy Field. 

Elderina Cecunjanin also found the back of the net, Sarah McCloud finished with an assist while Annie Cobileanschi made 14 saves in the win for Greenfield. 

Maddie Fagan scored twice and added an assist, Calli Gifford tallied a goal while Carly Robertson and Skyler Steele each had an assist  for Frontier. 

Boys soccer

Frontier 7, Mahar 0 — The Redhawks scored four goals in the first half to defeat the Senators at the Woodward Complex on Friday. 

Girls volleyball

Frontier 3, Agawam 2 — Olivia Machon led the way with 13 kills and seven aces as Frontier survived in the fifth set to earn a 25-15, 25-19, 19-25, 20-25, 15-6 win on the road against the Brownies on Friday. 

Greta Hale put down 10 kills and three aces, Bailey Martin and Rozalyn Schempp each had five kills while Parrish Stilla dished 39 assists in the victory. 

Mahar 3, Hampden Charter 0 — Hayden Comeau smashed seven kills and came up with two digs while Madelynn Burgess tallied nine aces and 14 assists in the Senators’ 25-17, 25-20, 25-21 victory on Friday in Orange.

Mia Santana and Scarleth Aranda Lebron each had three kills while Angelina Alonso put down four aces in the win. 

Montachusett 3, Franklin Tech 0 — Janiylah Wan recorded two aces and six digs while Amelia Rider came up with six digs in the Eagles’ 25-21, 25-23, 25-22 defeat on Friday in Turners. 

Field hockey

Northampton 2, Mahar 0 — Haly Doucette-Kaplan tallied in the first quarter and the third quarter for the Blue Devils, who beat the Senators in Orange Friday. 

Bella Burnett made 11 saves for Mahar. 

East Longmeadow 5, Mohawk Trail 0 — Ava Gile scored a pair of goals for the Spartans, who knocked off the Warriors in Buckland Friday. 

Redyn Gutierrez made 14 saves in goal for Mohawk Trail. 

Golf

Athol 173, Gardner 179 — Ethan Heuer was the match medalist with a 39, propelling the Bears to a victory over Gardner at Ellinwood Country Club Friday.

Brandon Adams (43), Owen Stoddard (44) and Dominik St. Andre (47) rounded out the scoring for Athol. 

Franklin Tech 171, Easthampton 201 — Gabe Mota was the match medalist after firing a 39 while Grady Deery came in with a 42 as Franklin Tech walked away with a victory at Holyoke Country Club Friday. 

Jack Day (43) and Will Belval (47) also scored for Tech.
