With 32 seconds left between the Mahar and Lenox girls basketball teams, Senator Nevaeh Scribner knocked down a 3 to cut the Millionaire lead to 45-42.

Mahar now awaits its opponent in the Western Mass. Class B tournament.

“They shot well from deep,” Senators coach Steve Bonk said. “The girls played extremely well all year. I’m proud of their performance. We’re very young but we’ve had a lot of girls step up.”

Kendrah Doane finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds for Mahar. Hayden Comeau scored 11 points and pulled down 15 rebounds, Astha Bernard tossed in eight points, Sophia Woods and Scribner each had three points while Alexis Packard had two points in the loss.

Franklin Tech 57, Putnam 37 — The Eagles close out their regular season with an unblemished 12-0 record in the Franklin County League South after defeating Putnam in Turners on Thursday.

Franklin Tech also finishes the season with a 17-1 record.

“We had a pretty good regular season,” Eagle coach Joe Gamache said. “We would like to have one loss back, but it made us refocus and ultimately made us a better team down the stretch. Every game matters now. We have a lot to look forward to and we’re excited about that.”
