I recently attended a show at the Ja’Duke Center for the Performing Arts called “Resilience Rising.” The show was a benefit to raise money for New England Learning Center for Women in Transition, an organization that helps women in crisis. The show was in memory of my sister, Vivian A. Morrisey, who was killed 37 years ago in a senseless act of domestic violence.

I have to say that the show was fantastic and the turnout to me was amazing. I would like to thank all of the people of Franklin County who came to the show. Your support is greatly appreciated. It is sad that organizations like the Center for Women in Transition have to exist, but domestic violence still exists.

I also thank the center for all that they do. It is a noble cause that I wholly support. To see that venue packed with residents from your community melted my heart. Again, I say thank you for supporting and caring.
