GREENFIELD – MassHire Franklin Hampshire is settling into its new digs, having moved from Arch Place to the Greenfield Corporate Center at the end of May.

The quasi-governmental agency connecting workers with employers opened to customers at 101 Munson St., Suite 210, on June 1, though there is still some unpacking to do behind the scenes.

“It’s so much more well laid out for the staffing that we have now,” said Executive Director Rebecca Bialecki. “We have grown, especially post-pandemic, to meet the needs of the workforce that’s out there. So we needed a little bit bigger space and we needed more space that fit our needs better.”

She said the agency consists of the Workforce Board, which employs eight people and handles policy, oversight and training development, and the Career Center, which Bialecki said is “the boots on the ground” and has 38 employees.

“We are two halves of one whole,” she explained.

Bialecki, who has been with MassHire for three years, said the agency now has an additional 3,000 square feet. There are more employee work stations and more space for private consultation with customers. There are now three meeting rooms, as opposed to one at the former location.

MassHire serves 50 towns and covers all of Franklin and Hampshire counties and the entire North Quabbin region. She said Greenfield is the most centrally-located place to cater to all the communities. The hours of the Greenfield location will be Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

MassHire has locations at the North Quabbin Chamber of Commerce at 80 Freedom St. in Athol and at Forbes Library in Northampton. The Athol location is open Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Northampton library spot is available for in-person registration, job search assistance and other services on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
