Paddles, the Athol Lions River Rat Race Mascot, has been visiting spots around the North Quabbin area in preparation for today’s River Rat Race. Among the places he has been was the Dunkin’ at Hannaford’s Plaza. Paddles tried to get a bite from the Dunkin’s mascot, Joey AKA “Sprinkles.” Also participating in the photos were Store Manager Karen Hitchcock and Assistant Manager Bradley Radziewicz.
Paddles also stopped in at the Tap House here in Athol to meet the customers at the bar, sing some karaoke and shoot some pool with his special Lions Club paddle with co-owners Scot Chambers.
Paddles headed to Orange to say hello to one of the Athol Lions River Rat Race Sponsors, Angie Prescott of Prescott Oil. Angie, along with her husband Nick, started the company in 2010.
Eager to check out some new (and old) wheels, Paddles went to Salvadore Chevrolet and Salvadore CDJR, both in Gardner, and is pictured here with Marketing Coordinator Maggie Callender with a 1925 Classic Chevrolet Model A. PHOTOS BY MITCHELL GROSKY
