NEW SALEM — A single-vehicle rollover on Fay Road required the Jaws of Life to remove a woman from the car.
The crash took place around 12:15 p.m. near a marshy area. The teal Oldsmobile sedan with a Massachusetts license plate rested on its roof off the road as emergency crews worked to free the driver.
Crews worked quickly, and the victim appeared to be alert as she was loaded on a stretcher into an Orange ambulance.
Orange Police, the New Salem Fire Department, Athol State Police and Orange EMS were among the personnel on the scene. A tow truck arrived around 12:45 p.m.
According to Athol State Police, the accident is still under investigation and no further information was available as of Sunday afternoon.
