Workers Credit Union was recently honored with a Diamond Award, recognizing its outstanding marketing and business development achievements.
The Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing and Business Development Council, a network of more than 1,300 credit union marketing and business development professionals, presented the award to the local credit union.
Workers Credit Union won a “Complete Category” award for its advertising campaign that encouraged consumers and members to “Bank like a Big Wig.” The promotion featured credit union members in massive, Victorian-era, powder-white wigs in print, television spots, social media, billboards and bus signage advertising.
“This is terrific news,” said Doug Petersen, president and chief executive officer. “The marketing department put their heart and soul into the ‘Big Wig’ campaign and it really shows. The goal of the campaign is to show that everyone is welcomed and regardless of their financial wherewithal, they get treated like a VIP.”
Workers was recognized at the council’s 25th annual conference in San Francisco, Calif. Workers Credit Union, home of the GiveBack program, is headquartered in Fitchburg and has branches in Athol and Orange.
With assets of $1.6 billion, the credit union serves more than 96,000 members from Worcester and Franklin counties.
