Athol JV baseball beats Franklin Tech 7-6

TURNERS FALLS — Dilan Fountain had a no-hitter through four innings with eight strikeouts and two walks, while Jonathan Mahony finished 2-for-4 with a two-run bases-loaded single in the sixth inning as Athol defeat Franklin County Tech, 7-6, Monday afternoon in junior varsity baseball action.

Conner Mahony pitched two innings for Athol and allowed two earned runs, while striking out four. Isaac Has closed out the game for the Red Raiders, pitching the seventh inning.

Evan Mayer went 2-for-4 with one run scored. Josh Thompson went 1-for-3 with a two-run single on a 3-2 count in the sixth inning. Thompson also had a catch in left field to preserve his team’s lead in the seventh. One the play, Thompson also had a good throw to second base to prevent the runner at first from getting into scoring position.
