ATHOL — The Athol Middle School softball team scored nine runs in the fourth inning, five in the fifth and two in the sixth to defeat Narragansett Regional, 17-2, in a mercy-rule shortened game, Wednesday.
Kristinna Sigurdsson pitched all six innings for Athol, striking out 12 batters. Emma Bacigalupo went 1-for-2 at the plate with two runs and one walk. Bell Spooner went 1-for-2 with two runs and one walk.
Athol is now 1-0 on the year.
