LUDLOW — A day after defeating Franklin Tech 22-0, the Athol softball team’s bats were silenced by Ludlow in a 3-2 loss on Thursday.
Haley Bigwood pitched for the Red Raiders, striking out four while giving up three runs on four hits and three walks. She also had two hits, including a two-run home run in the first inning.
The Lions added one run in the bottom of the first and tied it in the third. They took the lead in the sixth.
Geca Baptista and Sadey Lehtomaki each provided one hit for the Red Raiders (1-1), who will take on Belchertown in the team’s home opener on Monday.
