ATHOL — The Athol softball team lost 3-0 to the Greenfield Green Wave, Thursday.
“Even though we lost, we still played a good game against Greenfield,” Athol coach Sharon Chauvette said.
The Red Raiders fell to 2-4 with the loss, while the Green Wave improved to 5-1. The Green Wave were coming off of a 1-0 win against previously undefeated Turners Falls.
Lindsey Leblanc pitched all seven innings for the Red Raiders and allowed three runs on eight hits with five walks and four strikeouts. Leblanc had the team’s only hit of the game.
Olivia Joy earned the win for the Green Wave. She struck out 13 and walked four over seven innings.
Athol will face Taconic High School at home on Saturday at 10 a.m.
