GARDNER — The Greater Gardner Community Choir will present their annual Spring Concert on Sunday, May 6 at 4 p.m. in the Sacred Heart of Mary Church, 32 Spruce Street, in Winchendon.

Area singers include: Richard and Diane Coburn, Paul Maier and Karen Mercier all of Athol; Cecelia Olds, Kristina Gemborys and Mary Mallard all of Phillipston; and Sally Berry from South Royalston.

The program features Dan Forrest’s “Requiem for the Living” written in 2014, and will include a chamber orchestra and a chorus of 70 voices. The concert will have new pieces of familiar favorites by contemporary Vermont composer Gwyneth Walker, and will also feature the Greater Gardner Youth Choir. Diane Cushing directs the adult choir and Shannon Leighton will lead the children’s choir and the combined choruses on several numbers. Ted Cushing, husband of the director, will be accompanying all selections.

Tickets will be available at the door; senior citizens and children admitted free of charge, thanks to a grant from the St. Gobain Foundation.

Refreshments will be served following the concert.
