MONTAGUE — On Tuesday, the Athol girls track & field team dropped a close meet with Turners Falls, 76-68.
Crista Jillson paced the Red Raiders, earning first in the triple jump with a jump of 28 feet, 9 inches, first in the 400-meter run with a time of 0.71 seconds and third in the 100 hurdles with a time of 20.9.
Shelby Mailloux placed in three events, earning first in the 800 in 3:18, third in the long jump with a jump of 12-10 and third in the mile in 6:50. Taylor Cleveland also placed in three events, earning second in the shot put (24-11), third in the javelin (71-1) and third in the discus (58-5).
Grace Dufour placed in multiple events, earning first in the long jump (13-5) and first in the mile (6:32). Kassidy Swan placed first in the 2-mile in 16:08 and second in the mile in 6:33. Liberty Smith placed second in the 2-mile (17:26) and third in the 400 (82.0).
Other finishers for Athol include, Mercedes Young in the javelin (second, 72-4), Emily England in the 100 (first, 14.1), Payton Parker in the 100 (third, 14.3), Ava York in the 400 (second, 81.0), Julia Beniot in the 400 hurdles (third, 1:35.1), Isabella McDonald in the 800 (third, 4:03) and Alexis Moriarty in the 2-mile (third, 23:54).
The team’s 4×400 meter relay team won the event with a time of 5:13.
