PHILLIPSTON — After the ballots were removed from the 128-year-old wooden ballot box and hand counted, Kim Pratt was declared the winner of the three-year seat on the board of selectmen by a vote of 155 to 104, defeating Bernard Malouin Sr. at Monday’s annual town election.

In the contest for a three-year seat on the board of health, Frederick French defeated Thomas Brouillet by a vote of 166 to 87.

Others re-elected were:

David Manty, Assessor, three years;

Paul Bauch, Cemetery Commission, three years;

Fern Stellato, Constable, three years;

Victoria Charter, Narragansett Regional School Committee (Phillipston representative), three years;

Deborah Koziol and Rae-Ann Trifilo, Narragansett Regional School Committee (two seats for Templeton representatives), three years;

Vernet Lussier, planning board, five years;

Karen Gallant, for the three-year position as library trustee, three years;

Kevin Flynn, moderator, three years.

Of the town’s 1,191 registered voters, 260 cast ballots. Over the last six years, the lowest turnout was in 2014 with 139 voters; and the highest turnout was 2013 with 435 voters.
